Perhaps starting is not what you are avoiding

Finish it before you make it bigger — By Dee Academy

The document may already be open. The words exist. The idea has taken shape.

And still, it remains unfinished.

Not because you cannot begin, but because finishing changes something. While a piece of work is incomplete, it can still become perfect in your imagination. Once it is finished, one real version exists for someone to see.

That can feel vulnerable. Not because you are weak, but because visibility is real.

Ask yourself: What is already useful, but still unfinished because I do not want it to be judged yet?

Choose one thing that is at least 80% complete. Finish this sentence: “Today, it is done when …”

Make it measurable: the email is sent, the post is published, or the document is submitted. Set fifteen minutes and complete only what is necessary for that finish line.

My free guide ‘5 Patterns That Keep You Small’ helps you recognise the hidden ways protection can disguise itself as sensible behaviour.
